How we pick

Each job in a folder shows up to three apps, labelled “Our pick”, “Runner-up”, “Also great”, in the order this rule gives. The rule is applied step by step, using only what we recorded when we tested the apps.

  1. Available: you can start a trial today.
  2. Higher security level.
  3. Free licence for business use (yes before with limits).
  4. Fewer moving parts: fewer containers in our test, then less memory.

Nobody pays for placement, and the rule does not look at what earns us more. Only apps you can start today can be the pick. Every other app is one click away under “See all” or “Also tested”. We never sort by popularity.
